The FERT Team was astounded that a popular comedian has gone on record as saying that he is expecting a barrage of hate mail after publicly condemning ferrets as doing 'very little except bite".

Clearly Robin Williams, famous for roles such as 'Mork' in the 70's show 'Mork & Mindy' doesnt appreciate or understand the animal as well as others and that includes the millions of fans and owners in the UK, the USA and across the world.

Sadly it is this sort of opinion which influences other peoples views before they have the opportunity to get to know the friendly ferret which is pushing its way into the top 5 of companion animals on both sides of the Atlantic.

The story originally published in Empire magazine stated "The ferret is the most annoying animal. I'm probably going to get hate mail from angry ferret owners now, 'How dare you insult the ferret! It's basically a loveable weasel."

"There's a show in America where all these people compete with ferrets and they don't even do anything. They basically hold them up and if they don't bite you might win."

Unfortunately other animals are also in the firing line from Mr Williams how also voiced his opposition to Chinchilla's - he describes them as 'mean'!

He went on to say - "Years ago a friend of mine had a ferret called Ranchi-Franchment, but that one was actually quite sweet. So maybe I'll say the chinchilla is the most annoying instead. They're pretty mean too and they roll in dust."
