This is the site of FERT - Ferret Education and Research Trust. A site for all people; from ferret owners to members of the public who want to find out more regarding these lovable animals

The BVA Animal Welfare Foundation has launched a new practical guide for 2008 designed to enable owners to provide the very best of care for their pet ferret.

Produced in association with the Ferret Education & Research Trust (FERT), the leaflet reflects the growing popularity of these intelligent and curious animals as household pets

In 2007 FERT (Ferret Education & Research Trust) launched the first recognised National Ferret Day to raise awareness about ferret welfare and also give the opportunity for regional ferret welfare and rescue centres to raise funds for their own personal projects.

This year in 2008, FERT is launching the first national campaign ribbon to promote to the public the need for proper care of ferrets and also highlight the growing popularity of ferrets as companion animals..

We are doing this in conjunction with Badger Ales, brewers of Fursty Ferret Ale to mark National Ferret Day 2008. www.badgerales.com

Ribbons are on sale for only £1.00 (plus postage) and are available via the web site by clicking here or via our eBay store here.

If you wish to bulk purchase a quantity of ribbons and raise money for your own local ferret welfare or rescue then please email ribbons@ferrettrust.org for more details

Each ribbon sold will raise money which will be returned to charitable projects intended to continue the work of FERT by raising the profile of the ferret as both a working and companion animal as well.

The 2008 Campaign Ribbon is only available through FERT and recognised ribbon resellers. If it doesn't carry the "FERRET WELFARE" text then it's not an original and your money may not be going back towards the care and welfare of ferrets.
